Today, most products require assembly, whether that assembly is done by the manufacturer, a job shop, or by the customer. Printed instructions have been the standard since CAD was developed, but times are changing and technology is always improving. SolidWorks Composer offers interactive step-by-step assembly instructions. Using the free SolidWorks Composer player, all content created within the application can be played by anyone interactively, eliminating the need for printed paper instructions.
The assembler of the product can navigate freely though the document, or follow a specified path decided by the document creator. Navigational buttons and interactive table of contents direct what the assembly has access to, and can direct the end user to the specific process that needs completed.

Step 2
Once one view has buttons, they can be copied to all required views by selecting which views will need these buttons and then clicking the “Update Views with Selected Actors” button at the top of the Views pane. This allows control over which views will be active in the player.
Step 3
By CTRL+Dragging Views from the Views Pane into any Active View, your Table of Contents is instantly created. These will automatically link the user of the player to the specific areas of the interactive animation.
