Damon Tordini (Product Manager – Plastics & Flow Simulation – Hawk Ridge Systems) and Jeff Osman (Territory Technical Sr. Manager for SOLIDWORKS out of North Carolina) have been making their rounds to teach our customers more about SOLIDWORKS Injection Molding in Plastics. Hawk Ridge Systems presented on making a beer tap for their brew that they completed back in 2009.
This model was used to discuss Plastics by both Damon and Jeff, the event that I was able to attend was at Great Basin Brewery in Reno, NV.
SOLIDWORKS Plastics – Injection Molding at the most basic level enables a part designer to check their part for moldability early on in the design process, and make changes to avoid common molding defects such as sink marks or weldlines. The additional functionality in the higher levels of Plastics enables more detailed analysis, allowing virtual optimization and fine tuning of both part and mold design before committing to costly tooling.
The different solutions SOLIDWORKS offers were discussed, and really broken down for what each package has to offer. If you look to the image below, you too can get a better understanding of what each SOLIDWORKS Plastics and Injection Molding can offer.
Utilizing SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDWORKS Plastics, and CAMWorks people can be ready for manufacturing a lot faster!
